The Arhuaco people of Colombia are one of the four population groups that have ancestrally inhabited the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Its population is 27 000 people, mainly located in the departments of Cesar and Magdalena, from the mouth of the Rio Guatapuri to the mouth of the Rio Tucurinca.
